All staff receive mandatory safeguarding training appropriate to their role, including recognising signs of abuse, responding to concerns, and reporting incidents.
Safer recruitment practices are in place, including DBS checks, references, and suitability assessments.
We promote a culture of openness and accountability, supported by clear whistleblowing procedures.
Reporting and Responding to Concerns
All safeguarding concerns are taken seriously and acted upon promptly.
Concerns are reported internally to the Safeguarding Lead.
Where required, concerns are escalated to the City of London Adult Safeguarding Team and other relevant authorities.
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is notified of safeguarding incidents in line with regulatory requirements.
We work closely with local authorities, health professionals, families, advocates, and other agencies to ensure a coordinated and proportionate response.
Empowerment and Making Safeguarding Personal
We are committed to the principles of Making Safeguarding Personal. This means:
Listening to individuals
Respecting their wishes and views
Supporting informed decision-making
Acting in line with the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and best-interest principles
Safeguarding is person-led and outcome-focused, balancing safety with wellbeing and personal autonomy.
